Frostkit's appearance

Lilypaw padded into camp, a small orange-and-white bundle in her jaws. She lowered the kit slowly to the ground and wrapped her tail around it. "Leapordstar!" She called, pulling the small tom closer.

The tiny kit mewled, as he was hungry. He would need milk soon. He scrabbled around in search of warmth and purred as he finally pressed against Lilypaw.

Beepaw gave the kit a disgusted look. "Ew. A rogue?"

Lilypaw curled her lip at Beepaw in annoyance. "It's not his fault he was abandoned."

Hazelpaw frowned at the little kit as he approached, curious as to what exactly had started the commotion. Overhearing the conversation, he knew two things; it was a rogue, and it was abandoned. He wasn't particularly fond of rogues - they lived and acted in strange ways he couldn't fathom - but a kit was a kit, and Beepaw, to be fair, was being a little mean. "Is he injured?" the brown-and-cream tom inquired, "maybe you should bring him to Mapleleaf first, in case he's ill or starving." Besides, the sooner he was out of his clan and back to his mother the better; but he decided not to say that. Would it end up staying? Well, that was in Leopardstar's paws, he supposed.

a"Good idea."Lilypaw mewed. She gently took the kit by it's scruff, sent one last glare at Beepaw, and headed to the medicine den.

A dark tabby tom looked over from where he had been resting near the warriors den. His amber eyes took in the sight and he immediately stood and padded over to the gathering apprentices, and the tiny, mewling bundle between them. Marshstorm felt his heart ache at the tiny kit. How had this little one come to be on his own? His stare was level as he flicked his tail on Beepaw's back in a chastising manner.
"Beepaw, I believe you have some training to do." He meowed firmly as he followed the other two apprentices towards the medicine den. "Lilypaw." He called as he entered the den. His eyes fell on the tiny kit once more.

"Where did you find it?" He asked, his thoughts turned towards a worried mother who might be looking for a lost kit. Even if they had been on ThunderClan territory. "Did you detect any scent of the mother?"

Beepaw hissed quietly. The stupid thing would be so easy to just get rid of... His stupid Clan was so filthy with rogues that even he was half rogue. The tom slunk away. Maybe they'd appreciate him after he got some prey for the clan.

"I found him in the territory. No scent of the mother. Must be abandoned. Poor thing..., never had a mother..." Wisteriapool was a great mother and she couldn't think of being raised by any other cat. 'I'll take care of you...' Lilypaw thought, licking the top of his orange-and-white head.

Marshstorm looked down at the tiny kit once more. It's little ginger and white fur tufted and messy from being carried around, a little dirty from lack of care by it's mother. How could any mother do that to a kit? Just leave it behind... He bit back the thought before it could surface too much. Perhaps this was a misunderstanding, maybe... though he thought about the lack of rain. That certainly meant that the scent would have stayed.

"Leopardstar should be back from his patrol soon. If the kit has no mother, it's not going to survive out there..." He mused, his thoughts turning to the cats that had most recently been queens. "It's still very young, it'll need a mother and some food." He paused, most of the queens had their litters. Most of them had even moved out of the nursery. He watched the apprentice carefully, she seemed very attached to the kit. "Where in the territory did you find it? Close to the twolegplace?"

"No... about in between the camp and twoleg place." Lilypaw mewed, tucking her fluffy tail around the kit.

"Alright." Marshstorm nodded as he turned from the apprentice and kit towards the clan outside of the den. "Wait for Leopardstar and Mapleleaf, I'm going to go inspect the area myself." He paused, then turned to Lilypaw with a smile. "I'll be back soon. In the mean time, take care of that kit... He's likely going to stay." He added comfortingly. There was no chance in starclan that he would let a kit go helplessly into the world. It was here to stay now.
